Respiratory protection is a significant concern for welders due to the release of fumes and gases as part of the process. In addition to the metal fumes and toxic gases, welding hazards include burns and radiation from the flame/arc, molten metal splashes, sparks and heated surfaces.

The 3M™ Welding Respirator provides lightweight, effective, and comfortable respiratory protection. This durable respirator is designed specifically for welding applications to provide protection against ozone and welding fumes, plus relief from nuisance odours. It is resistant to clogging and does not require costly and time-consuming maintenance. Like other disposable respirators, the welding respirator is compatible with 3M™ eyewear and hearing products. It is also compatible with 3M™ Speedglas™ Welding Shields.

• 3M™ Universal Buckle adjustment offers a comfortable and secure feel with heavy duty four point adjustable braided headband straps

Proprietary 3M™ Cool Flow™ exhalation valve provides a cooler and drier wear by reducing heat and moisture build up on the inside of the respirator

• Made from 3M™ Advanced Electret Filter Material for effective filtration with low breathing resistance
• Coloured straps for easy identification of protection class (blue for P2)
• Does not contain components made from natural rubber latex
• Mould M-shaped nose clip to the wearer’s nose shape to help reduce eyewear fogging and for a better seal and fit

What is a P2 Rating?

• P2 is a respiratory filter rating under the AS/NZS1716 standards for use in Australia and New Zealand. Protects against mechanically and thermally generated particles.
• Filtration rate: Filters at least 94% of airborne particles
• Suitable for: Relatively small particles generated by mechanical processes eg. grinding, cutting, sanding, drilling & sawing
  Sub-micron thermally generated particles e.g. metal & welding fumes, fertilizer and bushfire smoke, diesel exhaust & smoke and acid gases
  Biologically active airborne particles under specified infection control applications e.g. viruses, bacteria, COVID-19, SARS, bioaerosols & fungus
• Often distinguished with blue head straps
