3M™ A1B1E1K1 MULTI GAS VAPOUR CARTRIDGE FILTER 6059 | PAIR
Gas & Vapour protection only. Combined with particulate protection when using a 5925 filter.
3M makes organic vapour respirator cartridges to help reduce user exposure to many different organic vapours. Organic vapours are compounds primarily derived from fossil fuels such as oil or coal. For example, solvents or petrol release organic vapours.
For protection when working with a variety of chemicals such as solvents (boiling point > 65°C), chlorine, hydrogen chloride, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen fluoride, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, methylamine, and formaldehyde.
Provides protection against: Organic Vapours (boiling point > 65ºC) (A1), Inorganic & Acid Gases, Ammonia and Methylamine (B1E1K1).
The 3M Cartridges 6000 Series attaches to the 3M Half and Full face respirators, they are lightweight and well balanced when fitted to the respirator.
Any filtering respirator should not be used for protection at airborne concentrations of contaminants above the relevant Immediately Dangerous to Life or Health (IDLH) levels. This cartridge/filter, when used for protection against the contaminants as specified, is capable of providing the following protection levels: – With a 3M 6000/7500 Series Half Face Respirator: for airborne concentrations up to 10 times the Workplace Exposure Standard (WES) or 1000 ppm, whichever is the lower – With a 3M 6000/7800 Series Full Face Respirator: 50 x WES or 1000 ppm, whichever is the lower.
Meets the performance requirements of AS/NZS 1716:2012
There are 30 pairs in a carton.
How long will cartridges and filters last on the shelf and in use?
Stored unopened in the original packaging, 3M cartridges and filters will last five years. Once removed from their packaging, replace them after six months. The service life of cartridges and filters depends on a number of factors including the type and number of contaminants in the air, the breathing rate of the wearer, ventilation, humidity and respirator storage. Gas and vapour cartridges must be changed when contamination can be detected coming through cartridge by smell or taste. Particulate filters must be changed when breathing resistance increases and becomes uncomfortable.
What happens if I do not use a particulate filter with my cartridges?
The particulate filter removes the tiny droplets or particles in the air (eg. Mists from spray painting). Cartridges do not filter these particles, if no particulate filter is used, they could be breathed in.
